Who we are
Family business from Neumünster.
Kortum Handelsgesellschaft mbH is a small, family-run company from Neumünster in Schleswig-Holstein. Starting with the purchase and sale of British Army vehicles, we have expanded our business over the years to include the trade and rental of construction machinery, commercial and municipal vehicles, and today we look back on more than 35 years of experience.

1989
The beginnings
It started in 1989 – in Bordesholm, Schleswig-Holstein, ahoy! And not in quite the usual way: our first purchases and sales were vehicles of the British Army and related army equipment – Land Rovers in particular had captured our hearts.
1990
Expansion
At the beginning of the 1990s we extended our commercial vehicle segment to include trucks of the British Army. Business picked up speed – and with it the range of our vehicles.
1993
The foundation
1993/94 brought a great upswing: with the disbanding of the Allied forces in Berlin, large quantities of machinery and vehicles were sold off. By trading these machines we laid the economic foundation for our company’s successful development.
1997
Trade means change
The business kept growing and needed more space. In 1997/98 we therefore moved to a larger site in Bornhöved.
1998
Ever heavier equipment
Between 1998 and 2004 the truck business continued in Bornhöved. Over time, more and more heavy trucks, municipal and construction machinery were added – the path to today’s focus was taking shape.
2004
Kortum GmbH is founded
In 2004 we moved again, to the site in Neumünster at Wagrierstraße 4 – our location to this day. From then on the focus of our trade was mainly on construction machinery. In the same year the sole proprietorship finally became Kortum GmbH.
2021
The next generation
Since 2021 Kai’s son Erik Kortum has also been working in the company. After many years of professional experience in the industry, he actively supports Kortum Handelsgesellschaft – and leads the family business into its second generation.

Today Kai and Erik Kortum together stand for what has defined us since 1989: honest trading, personal advice and a passion for good machines. From excavators to shovels, we are happy to find what you are looking for.
